Our candles are made of a soy and paraffin wax blend intended to elevate your home and self-care routine. Nuri Candles are launching in two different ranges to provide you with variety and choice. We have the Boday and Bootay ranges of candles designed for home d├ęcor and aesthetic purposes.

Burn time

Boday and Bootay burn for 45 minutes on average. The nature of the shape of the candle does not provide for a long burn time. This means that they are one-time burn candles.

Should you decide to light them, we encourage you to place them in a large dish that can capture all of the melting wax to avoid spilling all over. The candle should be kept in sight at all times whilst burning and it is very important to keep out of the reach of children and pets.

First time

The first time you light your Nuri candle is the most important and will be what ensures that your candles burn longer. It is very important to place the candle in an appropriate dish whilst burning. It is also important to trim the wick before you light your candle because if the wick is too long, the flame can be too big and cause your candle to burn quicker.

Avoid light and hot temperatures

Waxes and fragrances are sensitive to light and temperature so how you store them is very important. We recommend keeping them in cool, dry places away from direct sunlight as this protects from discolouration and fading. Direct sunlight can also change the shape of the candle.

Some basics

We want you to safely enjoy our candle ranges so here are some rules while burning them:

  1. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish all candles when you leave a room or before going to sleep.
  2. Apply the 60cm rule – don’t place a burning candle within 60 cm of clothing, books, curtains, or anything flammable. Always remember that a candle is a flammable instrument and should be handled with extreme care.
  3. Trim the wick to 5mm each time the candle is lit. This helps prevent the flame from getting too large.
  4. Keep lit candles away from draughts, ceiling fans, and any air currents. Any form of air current can cause uneven burning, smoking, diminish the scent throw, and even decrease the burn time.
  5. Place candle holders on a stable, heat-resistant surface that is sturdy and large enough to catch any melted wax.
  6. Always read and follow our directions for use and safety, and extinguish a candle if the flame gets too close to the candle holder or container.
  7. Place burning candles at least 10cm apart from one another.
  8. A burning candle should not be used as a nightlight.
  9. A candle should not be burned for more than four hours at a time.
  10. Do not burn the candle if the container is cracked, chipped, scratched, or damaged in any way.
  11. If the candle is burning correctly, it should be constant (not flickering), teardrop-shaped, and upright.
  12. For soot, extinguish the fire, wait for it to cool, and wipe away with a clean damp cloth then trim the wick and you can proceed.
  13. For optimal enjoyment, we recommend that you keep the wax pool clear of wick trimmings, matches, and debris at all times.
  14. Try to keep doors and windows closed to capture the scent of the candle.

Now you can enjoy your candle!
